Alexander C “Sandy” Kemper - Chairman of the Board
Alexander C Kemper is the Chairman of the Board of The Collectors Fund, a private equity fund focused on alternative asset classes. Kemper is also the Chairman of the Board of Pollen, a leader in the next generation of trade settlement companies.
Prior to founding The Collectors Fund and Pollen, Kemper founded Perfect Commerce (fka eScout.com) and served as the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 2000-2006. Under Kemper’s leadership Perfect Commerce created the Open Supplier Network™ (OSN™) and became the largest and fastest growing provider of on-demand supplier relationship management (SRM) technology in the United States.
Prior to founding Perfect Commerce, Kemper served as Chairman of the Board and CEO of UMB Bank and CEO of UMB Financial, a NASDAQ traded financial services company with assets of more than eight billion dollars. Kemper began his career with UMB upon graduating in 1987 from Northwestern University where he majored in American History.
Kemper is an active angel and venture investor and currently serves on the corporate boards of UMB Financial (NASDAQ: UMBF), UMB Bank, NIC (NASDAQ: EGOV), Efficient Finance and SCD Probiotics.
Kemper and his family are active in academic, civic and philanthropic endeavors and Kemper serves on the board of the Agriculture Future of America (AFA), a non-profit scholarship and leadership development organization which he co-founded.
Kemper and his family live on a farm in Kansas City, Missouri, where they raise and care for their horses, sheep and any and all wild animals (not including their 4 children).
Robert Conner - Director and CEO
Robert “Bob” Conner is the Chief Executive Officer for sipVine, Inc. With over 20 years in the Information Technology industry, Bob has managed large groups of engineers and complex information technology systems. Overseeing global IP telephony installations and consulting for several Fortune 500 companies, Bob became well aware of the business and economic requirements for telephony systems. While co-founding sipVine, he was determined to provide a better solution for the issues companies face when finding a telecommunications provider. Bob lives in Olathe, Kansas and is a proud alumni of Park University where he received his Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Management/Computer Information Systems. Bob and his wife, Jill, enjoy training for and competing in triathlons and traveling worldwide.
Colin Wells - Director and CTO
Colin Wells is the Chief Technology Officer for sipVine, Inc. Having been in the Information Technology industry for almost 15 years, Colin has engineered and re-engineered phone systems across the nation. With a passion for dial-tone and the background to know what all-sized companies are looking for in a phone system, Colin built the sipVine solution from the ground-up. Prior to co-founding sipVine, Colin led a team of elite engineers for a nationwide wireless utility reading company. Hailing from Summersville, Missouri, a town of a little over 500 and having lived in the Kansas City area since 1995, Colin’s roots are strongly tied to the Midwest. Colin is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys camping, swimming and fishing with his wife and their four children.
Tim Barton - Director
Entrepreneur Tim Barton founded Freightquote.com® in August of1998. Tim's accomplishments have been recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine listing him in the top five of their Hot 100 ranking; Ernst and Young with Entrepreneur of the Year, and the Computerworld Honors Program for his leadership. Also, Forbes Magazine has listed Freightquote.com among their Best of the Web rankings.
Formerly, Tim was the President and Co-founder of UWI Association Programs, a telecommunications company that concentrated on long distance affinity programs for commercial trade associations. Under his leadership, the company reached $22 million in annualized revenues and became part of Network Long Distance, a publicly traded, switch-based carrier with $110 million in annualized revenues. As President of the resulting company, he merged the organization with IXC Communications (now Broadwing Communications) in June of 1998.
Tim holds an MS in Finance from LSU and a BS in Business from the University of Kansas.
Jason Beer - Director
Jason Beer was one Freightquote.com’s earliest members, joining in November of 1999. He contributes over 13 years of sales and management experience to Freightquote.com, and is responsible for managing the company's large and diverse sales organization.
Jason is accomplished in general areas of operation including sales, customer service, contract negotiation, account retention, strategic alliances, and business mergers. Prior to joining Freightquote.com, he held similar positions at several telecommunications companies.
Jason is a graduate of Pittsburgh State University in Kansas.
Mark D. Greim - Director and Vice President
Mark Greim is the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for sipVine. Mark has over 10 years in telecommunications sales and sales administration experience, as well as over 17 years in a variety of executive administration roles within the healthcare industry. He has a passion for start-up businesses, and values the hard work and determination required of the team to deliver success in such environments. He received both his Bachelor and Master degrees in Business Administration from Rockhurst University. A life-long Kansas City, North resident, Mark and his wife, Betsy, are enjoying their “empty nest” after raising two children. Mark enjoys playing basketball and golf, and traveling with his wife.
