How long does it take to install sipVine's phone solution?
Two weeks on the backend, then four to five hours on-site, during which there is no downtime. Your phone service is not interrupted.
Can I use my sipVine phone at places other than my office?
YES! sipVine's phone solution is very flexible and allows you to use your phone
on the road via a virtual phone we install on your laptop (think of the savings on long distance calls while you are traveling!). You can also have a phone at home
that has the same number as your office phone and allows you to pick up the call
Do we have to buy new phones?
You can use your existing phones, but the entire set of features sipVine offers may not be available. sipVine has partnered with Polycom and Linksys to use their lines of business-class digital phones as part of our solution. We will work with you to choose
the best setup that fits your company's needs.
What are the additional charges, after installation and the monthly fee?
The only additional cost that your company may incur is for international calling. sipVine will provide you with a detailed listing of minutes and a call history so that you can track those expenses. Don't forget, unlimited national long distance calling is included!
Where’s the equipment housed?
sipVine's phone solution is a hosted-system and therefore equipment is housed in
our secure off-site facilities, and back-up is provided by multiple redundant systems
from various sources, including generators and back-up suppliers.
Since our phones use the Internet for access to sipVine's phone servers,
what if the Internet goes down?
Your customers are always able to reach your company because the backend system, with its built-in redundancies, is housed at a separate location. If your Internet service provider fails, or the power goes off in your building, all you would need is a location with high-speed Internet access to set up shop. Or, you can have your calls temporarily routed from our system to your cell phone. sipVine also stores all voicemails on our servers, so those will be delivered to you once you call into the system or your Internet connection is back online.
Does 911 emergency service work with the sipVine phone solution?
Yes. Most of our customers have access to either basic 911 or Enhanced 911 (E911) service.
With E911 service, when you dial 911, your telephone number and registered address is simultaneously sent to the local emergency center assigned to your location, and emergency operators have access to the information they need to send help and call you back if necessary. With basic 911, the local emergency operator answering the call will not have your call back number or your exact location, so you must be prepared to give them this information. Until you give the operator your phone number, he/she may not be able to call you back or dispatch help if the call is not completed or is not forwarded, is dropped or disconnected, or if you are unable to speak.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. You may end the service at any time with no cancellation fees. sipVine is very proud of its
service and we feel that once you try us you will stay with us!
Can we keep our existing phone numbers?
Yes. sipVine will move, or port, your existing phone numbers over to our digital phone service.
There is no interruption in service while the numbers are being transferred from your existing phone
provider over to sipVine.
How about sound quality? VoIP calls I’ve received sound “tinny,” or like the
caller is in a cave.
sipVine goes the extra mile in this area and installs a managed router at your site with highly
specialized software that ensures high quality voice transmission. The router also provides a firewall
between you and the outside world and wireless network access.
Is there a guarantee? A warranty?
The phones have a one-year warranty. We are on call 24/7 to serve all of our clients’ needs!
